API quick start

Make your first Curviate API call in under 5 minutes.

1. Get your API key

Your team API key is ready in the Curviate dashboard, under Settings › API & Webhooks. See Quickstart to find and copy it.

2. Your first call

List the LinkedIn accounts connected to your tenant:

curl https://api.curviate.com/v1/accounts \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer cvt_live_..."

The response is a paginated list of connected LinkedIn accounts and their IDs. You'll use the acc_... account ID in every subsequent API call.

{
  "object": "account_list",
  "items": [],
  "cursor": null
}

An empty items array means the key works but no LinkedIn account is connected yet. Almost every other endpoint is account-scoped and will return 404 ACCOUNT_NOT_FOUND until you connect one, so do that next: see Quickstart.

Keep your API key safe. Never commit it to source control. Use an environment variable: CURVIATE_API_KEY=cvt_live_...

3. What can go wrong

CodeHTTPCauseFix
UNAUTHORIZED401Missing, malformed, or revoked key. Also what you get for a cvt_test_ prefix, which is not a valid key format.Send Authorization: Bearer cvt_live_<key>.
ACCOUNT_NOT_FOUND404The acc_... in the path is not owned by this key, or you have not connected an account.Read your ids from GET /v1/accounts.
RESOURCE_NOT_FOUND404The path itself did not match a route. Most often a missing {account_id} segment.Check the path shape before the ids.
RATE_LIMIT_TENANT429Tenant quota exceeded.Honour the Retry-After header.
BUDGET_EXHAUSTED429Not a rate limit: an account-safety ceiling you configured is spent. Nothing reached LinkedIn.Not the backoff the row above wants. The recovery is documented once, in Account safety.

The full envelope and taxonomy are in the error reference.
